This is the correct move. Even when Republicans ask questions, the Clintons can just answer them and then mention whatever they want.
“No, I did not participate in that activity, but I did see/hear about [Insert Trump/GOP official/GOP backer name here] do awful thing X to victim Y.”
And the Democrats will ask questions that will be extremely uncomfortable for many in the GOP.

Honestly, anything like this should always be a public trial. They shouldn’t be allowed to “save face” or hide behind closed doors. Every. Single. Person. who is involved, that is a not a victim, should have their pictures and names posted and every part of this should be recorded for the public.
